Claire Parker MSc, BSc, HCPC, MCSP, MBAcC, MACPIVR

Practice Owner, Physiotherapist and Acupuncturist

I qualified as a physiotherapist in 2006, graduating from St. George's University of London after previously completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport and Exercise Science in 2002.

After graduating I spent a couple of years working as a Physiotherapist in Healthcare systems across the world including New Zealand and Turkey.  In New Zealand I trained in matwork Pilates level 1 and 2 with Polestar Pilates.

On my return to the U.K. I spent several years working in the private sector for Nuffield Health, one of the largest private medical providers in the country.

Following this I moved to the NHS where I worked as an Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner and Clinical Specialist (Extended Scope Practitioner) within an integrated team of Orthopaedic, Rheumatology and Pain Consultants for several years.  My last role within the NHS was a Spinal Orthopaedic Practitioner at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham, where I assessed complex neck and back pain and reviewed their suitability for spinal injections as well as conservative treatments.  It was with a heavy heart that I left the NHS in September 2019 to concentrate on managing and running a thriving private practice that I successfully opened in September 2018.

I also have a clinical interest in Vestibular Rehabilitation and have completed advanced training to assess and rehabilitate people with dizziness and balance disorders.

I completed my Masters in Acupuncture in 2017, achieving a distinction and winning the U.K. prize with the Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ATCM).  I decided to train as an Acupuncturist alongside full-time employment after seeing the physical and psychological benefits of acupuncture when treating pain conditions with physiotherapy patients since 2006.

I am evidence based in my treatment approach as a Physiotherapist and Acupuncturist and I attend regular training courses to maintain and progress my professional development.

I am a member of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) and Association of Chartered Physiotherapists with a special Interest in Vestibular Rehabilitation (ACPIVR).
