Clinical Pilates Instructor
My journey into teaching clinical Pilates began just over 20 years ago. I had graduated in Psychology and then went to work in London for a production company, but my strengths and passion for working with people in a clinical and caring profession soon led me to return to education to study Physiotherapy BSc Hons Degree at University College London. I loved the course and qualified with first class honours in 1997. I then worked in both the Oxford and Warwick NHS Foundation Trusts before starting a family.
When my children were young I once again went back into education and completed my Clinical Matwork Pilates training with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI) in 2006.
Since then I have specialised in teaching Clinical Pilates and love the movement, postural and breathing awareness that Pilates brings to your everyday life.. Pilates has improved my flexibility, suppleness and strength and I love teaching the skills required to improve your overall body function to others. My studies and interest in both the mind and body are brought together in Pilates where the body will achieve what the mind believes!
My other interests after my family, friends and two energetic dogs include tennis, running, skiing, travel and health.
I look forward to meeting you in my professional, sociable and fun classes. With regular practise Pilates will:
• positively change the body
• reduce pain
• improve physical function, movement and wellbeing
